Head of Commercial

Mapan is expanding its products/services offering to its network to further ensure a more holistic impact to the lives of its members. As Mapan is not a product company, the product offering will be made in collaboration with supplier/product partners. As a Head of Commercial, you will be owning responsibility for a few categories of products from inception to delivery. At the start, the role will be an independent role owning and executing the processes, but as the team grows the role will transition to a leadership/supervising role to the commercial team that will consist of commercial category managers and other positions. 

What You'll Do

  • Lead  commercial assessment between options of products to identify the most relevant product to offer to/through Mapan’s network

  • Lead  assessment of potential partners to be suppliers of products/services 

  • Define business model between all players in the ecosystem i.e. members, partners, Mapan and value creation for each

  • Together with the Operations team, define (later on oversee) process flow of product

  • Together with Marketing team, define (later on oversee) go-to-market plan of product

  • Overall supervision of collaborative efforts between teams to deliver product from start to end

  • Assessment of product performance post-launch and identifying improvement areas and plans


  • 6+ years of experience in P&L ownership, category ownership, partnership, product ownership is preferred 

  • Experience in fintech or financial services industry is highly preferred (lending, BNPL specific is a plus)

  • Customer obsession! Always putting customer in mind to deliver the best product and impact to end customers

  • Strong business acumen, able to assess opportunities using key business frameworks/metrics

  • Passion in building strategic partnership and working with partners to deliver meaningful products

  • Scrappy, and willing to build things from scratch 

  • Leadership experience with a mid-sized team is preferred
